Two Times 4’33“ (2008), based on John Cage’s famous composition 4’33” of 1952, consists of three silent movements. The film experiments with the idea that the actual space of the viewer and the fictive space of the film are diffused. Manon de Boer filmed two performances of the same piece; the first performance was recorded with the sound of the audience and background noise, while the second performance is shown in complete silence. Memory influences the viewer’s perception and orientation of the space in the second part.

De kennis is verdwenen.

Invisible Film documenteert de projectie van Peter Watkins’ controversiële anti-oorlogsfilm Punishment Park (1971) in een Californische woestijn waar de film gedraaid werd. De film, met projector maar zonder scherm, start net voor het vallen van de avond en eindigt in de donkere nacht. De fictie komt te voorschijn wanneer de realiteit (waar de fictie gemaakt werd) verdwijnt. En dit toevallig in een droog meer dat ‘El Mirage’ heet...
