The first feature-length film of filmmaker, author, actress and feminist activist Helke Sander. Edda is freelance press photographer and single mother living in 1970s West Berlin struggling to balance her commitment to her work, her art, her daughter and her lover. Threatened by the increasing cost of living (not to mention of producing images), a women’s photography collective attempts to subvert a commission given to them by the politically and sexually repressive West German government.
