A thought experiment on the artificial borders in Cyprus and a look into the everyday patterns of the Pakistani society.
Shot from a touristy observatory in Greek Nicosia, the video shows a panoramic view of the Turkish part of Cyprus, across the buffer zone. The soundtrack is a collection of sounds along this so called Attila Line crossing the island from coast to coast. In what way is this physical border also a mental border?
Conscious of their perceptions of Karachi and its geopolitical weight, the filmmakers investigate the everyday patterns of its inhabitants and social architecture in what becomes an experimental ethnography, avoiding traditional documentary modes.
