Makino Takashi was an intern at the studio of the Quay brothers, who made several classics in animation. They sharpened Makino’s sense for light, sound and film music. The result: a series of powerfull abstract works, some in collaboration with Jim O’Rourke... With his solid background in classic experimental film, Makino succeeds in making sensitive and contemplative work.
