Gölge is the daughter of Turkish migrants of the so-called “second generation”. She lives with her younger sister and her parents in a small two-bedroom apartment in Berlin-Kreuzberg. She seeks a difficult balance between the strict morality of traditional Turkish culture and the freedoms of German society. Her desires collide with the reality of the apartment, which offers no privacy. When her mother tries to give Gölge more freedom, her father reacts negatively. She starts to dream.
